Lymington Netball Club welcomes everyone to come along and play netball. Whatever age, and whatever ability, our aim is give players the best experience possible whilst keeping fit, making friends, learning skills and having fun.It’s all about team work!
Lymington Netball Club was formed in December 2001 following a 10-week coaching course set up by the Active Sport Netball Partnership Officer at HCC in conjunction with the New Forest District Council Sports Development Officer. The course attracted around 16 girls between the ages of 11 and 14 at Lymington Health & Leisure. At the end of this course a meeting for parents was organised to see if there was enough interest to form a Club. The girls themselves were very keen for this to happen and so were the parents who attended.
A small Committee was formed, a constitution was set up, a grant application submitted and some basic kit and equipment acquired. A team was formed and at their first attempt they won the Southampton League title. Mia is now a member of the superleague team, Team Bath and has played for England.
From this first team the Lymington Netball Club has grown to provide netball for all ages and at all levels. We have both competitive adult teams and ladies who play together on Monday evenings for the fun of it. All our young players train weekly and can play competitively in the Hampshire Junior netball league when their coaches feel they are ready.
